ATHENS – Athens’ Riverfront Park was filled to the brim Friday evening for a performance by The Machine, a Pink Floyd tribute band. Hundreds turned out from all around the region to pack the park – with parking at a premium on local streets – for the performance hosted by the Athens Performing Arts Committee, or APAC. “It’s a great performance,” said Sue Graf, who traveled from Albany to see the show. “I’ve always loved Pink Floyd, and this was a great show.” Her friend Rachel Spanner agreed. “This has really been fun. It’s a nice way to spend a Friday night – the weather is great, the park is beautiful, and the band rocks on,” Spanner said. The Athens Performing Arts Committee hosts the Athens Summer Concert Series every summer in Riverfront Park. The music series is now in its 13th year.
